RULES

1) One syllable--> +er-------------- tall - taller than
2) One syllable ending in consonant-vowel-consonant ---> double the consonant +er ------------ big - bigger than
3) Two syllables ending in -y, -le, -er, -ow ---> +er --------- happy - happier than
4) More than two syllables ---> more ------------beautiful - more beautiful than
5) Irregular adjectives: good-better than, bad-worse than, far-farther/further than
